Dominican Republic
A Writer's Paradise
At the Puerto Bahia Marina in Samaná, Dominican Republic, I spent my first day by the pool to the dismay of my skin and my computer. I did absolutely nothing that first day other than soak up the sun and get into that pool. This resulted in significant sunburn and peeling skin.
At the anchorage, I tried to get into writing mode, but I have to admit that being on vacation here nixed my motivation. Scroll, and you’ll understand.

Now put your imagination to work. You are on a 38-foot sailboat with your husband, whom you haven’t seen in months. Said husband and boat came fully stocked with fresh fruit, cheese, and lots of wine. And his chosen anchorage spot was completely private.
Completely. Private.
You get the idea. I did try to write, I promise. But this vacation was something special and one of those memories I will cherish.
